Brown Sims was originally founded as an admiralty firm
in 1968. Attorneys with the firm have extensive experience
handling all aspects of the shipping industry—cargo
disputes; seaman's claims, including those under the
Death on the High Seas Act, Jones Act, and Longshore & Harbor
Workers’ Compensation Act; maritime products liability
claims; maritime oilfield claims, maritime insurance
disputes; maritime finance agreements; and related issues.
Nationally recognized for their expertise, firm members
have taught law school maritime classes and delivered
lectures in seminars before trade and industry groups
throughout the country, and in continuing education courses
