Maritime

Brown Sims was originally founded as an admiralty firm in 1968. As a result of the tremendous overlap of the maritime, transportation, and energy industries, Brown Sims has represented virtually every type of maritime interest.

The firm routinely handles all aspects of the shipping industry—cargo disputes; seaman’s claims, including those under the Death on the High Seas Act, Jones Act, and Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (“LHWCA”); maritime products liability claims; maritime oilfield claims; maritime insurance disputes; maritime finance agreements; vessel seizures; petitions in exoneration; and related issues.
