Jeromy Hughes strives to develop close relationships with the firm’s clients, understanding their goals and working with them to achieve the best results possible, efficiently and effectively.  Clients are individuals and he takes their problems seriously, aggressively finding solutions up to and including trial, if necessary.

His personal aim is to provide clients with superior service and be available to meet their needs at any time. He maintains this commitment to his trucking industry clients through membership in the Harmonie Group’s Transportation Committee, an organization that makes an attorney available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to respond to trucking accidents, getting to the scene, coordinating the accident investigation, preserving evidence, preparing for litigation, or working to avoid litigation if possible.

With a focus on insurance defense cases, Mr. Hughes is an experienced trial attorney who has successfully defended a variety of personal injury matters, including Offshore and Maritime injuries, serious Automobile and Trucking accidents, Products Liability claims involving tires, trailers, boats, vehicles and pharmaceutical products, and Premises Liability claims ranging from security negligence and criminal activity to industrial accidents at chemical plants and oil refineries. Mr. Hughes also routinely handles contract drafting, negotiation and review for corporate clients, and breach of contract and commercial litigation. No matter what kind of case confronts him, he helps clients know their rights and responsibilities, and works with them to avoid litigation if possible, because the best way to defend a case is to never get sued to begin with.

Mr. Hughes earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin in 1993 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the South Texas College of Law in 1998. Along with his membership in the Harmonie Group Transportation Committee, Mr. Hughes is an active Member of the defense bar and belongs to the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute, the Transportation Lawyers Association and the College of the State Bar of Texas.

He is also a Member of the Houston Mariner's Club, the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit, and the Propeller Club of the U.S.-Port of Houston.

Mr. Hughes was named a Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2007, and again in 2008, which is an honor conferred upon only 2.5% of the total lawyers in Texas.

Mr. Hughes is also BV Peer Review rated by Lexis/Nexis Martindale-Hubbell.  The BV Certification mark is an excellent rating for an experienced lawyer, and is the maximum rating a lawyer can receive who has been admitted to the bar for 9 years.  This rating recognizes both very high legal ability and very high ethical standards.
