The majority of Ms. Rivero’s work focuses on defending employers in the offshore marine industry against claims arising under the Jones Act and the LHWCA.
Ms. Rivero received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Modern Languages from Southwestern University in May of 2004. After graduating, she spent a year in Beijing, China, learning Mandarin and serving as a Spanish and English instructor for Hui Jia Schools, Siemens, and Beijing University.
Ms. Rivero received a Doctor of Jurisprudence in May of 2008 from South Texas College of Law. While attending South Texas, Ms. Rivero received the Association of Corporate Counsel Scholarship, the Garland R. Walker Memorial Scholarship, and was a member of Phi Delta Phi. Ms. Rivero was one of twenty-five students nation-wide chosen to participate in the J.A.G. Corps Summer Internship Program and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.
In addition to scholarly activities, Ms. Rivero helped found the National Security Law Society, bringing an array of speakers to South Texas College of Law to address the effects of immigration, military activity, and environmental pollution on the nation’s security.
Ms. Rivero was admitted to the Texas Bar in September 2008. When not litigating, she enjoys travelling, volunteering with her parents, and cooking for her family in Venezuela. |
