Born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi, Mr. Clark became licensed to practice law in his home state in 2001 before moving to Texas.  He served a one year internship with the Harris County Attorney’s Office in its Trial and Compliance divisions before being admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2002.  Since that time, Mr. Clark’s practice has focused on general civil litigation and the defense of employers in a wide variety of personal injury and commercial dispute matters.  He has handled cases as diverse as toxic tort litigation to small probate and estate matters.  He has second chaired two trials and participated in a number of mediations to favorable results for his clients.

A large portion of Mr. Clark’s practice concentrates on defending employers in the inland and offshore marine industry against claims arising under the Jones Act.  Mr. Clark is very proficient in leaving no stones unturned when it comes to the investigation of a litigant’s claims.  In one case, Mr. Clark tracked down every former crewmember of a plaintiff who had claimed severe back injuries from a barge accident.  Despite the presence of a reported unseaworthy condition, Mr. Clark was able to discover that the plaintiff was still employed in heavy manual labor and thereby negated his future medical and lost wages claims.  In fact, the plaintiff had quit his job so he could work closer to home and had filed suit against Mr. Clark’s client in an attempt to offset his reduced income.  At mediation, Mr. Clark introduced a video that showed the plaintiff on the side of a highway changing an 18 wheeler tire with no assistance.  The case settled for nuisance value, a mere fraction of the plaintiff’s originally sought damages.

Mr. Clark completed his undergraduate study at the University of Mississippi in 1995 with Bachelors of Arts in Journalism and English.  He obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2000 from the Mississippi College School of Law.  During law school, Mr. Clark was granted admission to prosecute cases in the Rankin County Juvenile Court system and was a member of the Hinds County CASA Organization providing legal support to children of indigent means.  He has been published in The Houston Chronicle, The Daily Mississippian and The Sun Herald.  In his free time, he is an avid reader, collector of silkscreened art and a supporter of the local music community.
