Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Mr. Wrubel became licensed to practice law in 2004 as his second career after serving as an ordained minister in churches in Texas and Oklahoma since 1994. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Wrubel answered the challenge to establish the Global Ethics Office for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Mr. Wrubel implemented valuable skills in creating an efficient and effective program for the retail business to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and continue ethical business practices.

Leaving that accomplishment with a desiring to practice law and return to his home of Texas, Mr. Wrubel immediately gained trial and litigation experience by establishing a law office in San Marcos, Texas, capitalizing on the growing area between Austin and San Antonio.  During that time, Mr. Wrubel represented clients in both criminal and civil matters, including personal injury, real estate, and DTPA suits.  One favorable result for a client involved a four day jury trial for first-degree murder, in which the client was found by the jury to have acted in self-defense.

With this diverse experience, having represented the viewpoint of businesses in their specific needs, as well as having practiced as a trial attorney, the journey has been valuable since Mr. Wrubel has been a part of both litigation in process and the type of events that occur prior that can avoid the need for courtroom adjudication. Trial experience, as well as the experience of interfacing with business leaders in need of legal assistance in compliance, contracts, and general reduction of liability, has become a reservoir of skills to draw from on a daily basis.

From his wide range of experience, Mr. Wrubel has found the following to always apply in every situation as he serves his clients: Interpersonal relationship skills for general negotiating, as well as development of relationships; communication skills; independent analysis of problems for development of solutions; and consensus building for collaborative results.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992 from Baylor University, a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological in 1995, and a Juris Doctor in 2003 from the University Of Texas School Of Law, in his hometown of Austin.

When Mr. Wrubel sees a need, his greatest ambition is to serve. When not litigating he fulfills that desire by serving in his church in Sugar Land, where his wife serves as Women’s Ministry Coordinator. In addition to nearly every activity that can be called a sporting event, Mr. Wrubel enjoys spending time with his wife and elementary-aged son and daughter. He also enjoys golf, at least in theory.
