Most of Mr. Porteous’ work focuses on complex litigation involving Admiralty/Maritime claims.   He has participated in claims dealing with the smallest of brown water vessels and the largest of ocean going vessels.  Over the years, Mr. Porteous’ has represented platform owners, offshore supply companies, shipping companies and both over water and land based drilling operators.

During his career, Mr. Porteous has had the unique opportunity to serve as General Counsel for a Motion Picture Production Company in Louisiana.  In that capacity, Mr. Porteous has participated in all aspects of motion picture production from casting to post production.  Mr. Porteous’ hands on style distinguished his services from most others in the State performing day to day production legal services affecting everyone involved from production assistants to directors of feature length motion pictures.  He is uniquely qualified to serve as Production Counsel on production projects large and small.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in 1997 from the Louisiana State University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Louisiana State University in 2000.  He is a Member of the Louisiana Bar Association and admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Louisiana.
