Overview

Jeffrey Heyman is a Shareholder at Brown Sims, where he handles complex civil litigation matters across a broad spectrum of defense practice areas. His litigation experience spans some of the most demanding categories of civil defense work, including medical malpractice, premises liability, slip and fall, auto accident defense, trucking litigation, and plant explosion and industrial accident defense — cases that often involve intricate liability disputes, competing expert testimony, and significant exposure for his clients.

Mr. Heyman’s extensive experience involves navigating complex federal and state regulatory frameworks, multi-party litigation, and catastrophic injury claims. He also has experience defending clients in the aftermath of plant explosions and other industrial incidents, matters that demand close coordination with technical experts, regulatory bodies, and multiple layers of potential liability.

Mr. Heyman has first and second chair trial experience in courtrooms throughout Texas, giving him a deep, practical understanding of how to navigate complex litigation from pre-suit demands through trial verdict. This courtroom-tested background informs every stage of his case strategy, from discovery to dispositive motions to trial in order to obtain the best results for his clients.

His litigation practice extends into complex regulatory matters as well: Mr. Heyman represents medical professionals in proceedings before various licensing boards, including the Texas Medical Board and the Texas Board of Nursing, where he applies the same rigorous, detail-oriented approach that defines his civil trial work.

Outside of the office, Jeffrey enjoys traveling with his wife, indulging his passion for all things racing cars, and pursuing photography.
