Mr. Ferris’ practice primarily focuses on the defense of claims arising under the Defense Base Act (DBA), the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA), and the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act (TWCA).
Prior to joining Brown Sims, Mr. Ferris interned in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in the corporate and securities and mergers and acquisitions practice groups of a global law firm, and in the cybersecurity and media practice groups of a reputable regional firm. Mr. Ferris subsequently gained valuable experience as a law clerk for a Houston-based personal injury firm. During law school, Mr. Ferris was an Associate Articles Editor for the University of Houston Law Center’s Houston Business & Tax Law Journal and advanced to the final rounds of the Lorance Thompson Negotiation and Contract Drafting Competition.
Mr. Ferris earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Houston in 2018. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center in 2021.
Mr. Ferris was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in October 2021.
