Mr. De Leon primarily represents domestic and multinational employers and their insurance companies in claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, and Texas Workers’ Compensation Act.
Before joining Brown Sims as a Law Clerk in March 2020, Mr. De Leon interned at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. During law school, he contributed over 400 hours to the University of Houston Law Center’s Juvenile and Capital Advocacy Project at the Harris County Juvenile Justice Center, served as VP of External Affairs of the Latinx Law Students Association (f/k/a Hispanic Law Students Association), served as an Associate Board Member of The Advocates, and won Best Deal Score in the Lorance-Thompson Negotiation & Contract Drafting Competition.
As a long-time member of the firm, Mr. De Leon became well versed in all aspects of pre-trial litigation, including drafting litigation plans, initial disclosures, discovery requests and responses, deficiency letters, settlement evaluations and agreements, and pre-trial reports, identifying pertinent, non-privileged documents for production, consulting with experts, and preparing exhibits for trial.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2016 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center in 2021.
He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in October 2021.
