Ms. De Hoyos’ practice primarily focuses on the defense of domestic and multinational employers and their insurance companies in claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA) and the Defense Base Act (DBA).
Prior to joining Brown Sims, Ms. De Hoyos served as an intern at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Beau A. Miller in the 190th Judicial District Court. During law school, Ms. De Hoyos contributed over 120 hours to the University of Houston Law Center’s Consumer Law Clinic and Hurricane Harvey Assistance Program and gained valuable work experience at two Houston based civil litigation firms.
Ms. De Hoyos earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Houston in 2016. She earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center in 2020.
She was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in October 2020.
