Shareholder Andrew Taleghany successfully defended a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician in a Texas Medical Board investigation concerning alleged standard of care violations

Firm News

The Board’s inquiry focused on whether the physician, while practicing remotely, had adequately supervised and delegated responsibilities to clinical staff during an established patient’s visit. During that visit, the patient received an unintended medication, an antibiotic the patient had previously tolerated, instead of the intended steroid and anti-inflammatory injection. The central issue was whether the physician had complied with applicable protocols and oversight requirements.

Through submission of a detailed rebuttal packet and supporting materials, Mr. Taleghany demonstrated that the physician had implemented appropriate supervisory measures and satisfied all applicable standards. Based on that showing, the Board dismissed all allegations and closed the matter with no disciplinary action.
