Overview
Ms. Schackel has a robust litigation practice that addresses a wide range of matters including third-party general liability, first-party property, and legal malpractice claims.
Throughout her career, Ms. Schackel has provided her clients with valuable guidance to place them in the best position to obtain favorable outcomes. Ms. Schackel has handled complex issues involving catastrophic injuries for clients in the maritime, industrial, construction, transportation and aviation industries. Additionally, she has worked closely with insurers to address breach of contract and bad faith claims arising from personal and commercial property claims.
Ms. Schackel earned her undergraduate and law degrees from Washington and Lee University. Outside of the office, Ms. Schackel is active in the Junior League of Houston, and enjoys spending time with her family and playing Mahjong with friends.

- Represented auto dealership in successful summary judgment related to negligence and good and workmanlike conduct claims.
- Represented insurer in successful summary judgment on breach of contract, Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Texas Insurance Code, and bad faith claims.
- Successfully moved to have liability expert excluded in multi-million dollar negligence case.
- Successfully represented client in legal malpractice proceedings resulting in dismissal of claim.
- Successfully represented clients in appellate matters related to negligence and breach of contract claims.
