Ms. Lora-Whitmer’s practice focuses primarily on the defense of claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA) and the Defense Base Act (DBA).
Ms. Lora-Whitmer graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and a minor in Spanish. After earning her bachelor’s degree, Ms. Lora-Whitmer attended South Texas College of Law where she graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2022.
While in law school, Ms. Lora-Whitmer was involved in the advocacy program and participated in several moot court competitions. Ms. Lora-Whitmer was named Best Oral Advocate by the Appellate Lawyers Association in their annual moot court competition. Ms. Lora-Whitmer is also an inducted member of the National Order of Scribes Class of 2022 which recognizes law students who excel in legal writing.
In her free time, Ms. Lora-Whitmer enjoys spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys supporting the Texas Longhorns and Houston sports teams.
