Mr. Burt’s practice primarily focuses on the defense of domestic and multinational employers and insurances in claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA) and the Defense Base Act (DBA).
Prior to joining Brown Sims, Mr. Burt served as a judicial intern for The Honorable Harlin D. Hale in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. During law school, he also served as a student volunteer at the Texas A&M School of Law Entrepreneurship Clinic.
He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance in 2016 from Texas A&M University, and received a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2019 from the Texas A&M University School of Law.
He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in October 2019.
