Norma Hageney Brassard is an Associate Attorney in the firm’s Houston office. Her practice is focused on defending claims arising under the Defense Base Act (DBA) and the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA).
Prior to joining Brown Sims, Mrs. Brassard worked primarily in oil and gas title, where she specialized in drafting title opinions containing mineral and leasehold ownerships. While in law school, Mrs. Brassard also gained invaluable experience as a judicial intern for the Honorable Elaine H. Palmer in the 215th Judicial District Court.
Mrs. Brassard received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Minor in Business Administration from Texas A&M University in 2013, studied International Negotiation and Comparative Tax Law at Univerzita Karlova in the Czech Republic in 2015, and earned her Juris Doctor in 2017 from South Texas College of Law Houston. During law school, Mrs. Brassard was a research assistant for Professor Mark Steiner and competed in various moot court tournaments. She also actively participated as an officer of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.
Outside of the legal world, Mrs. Brassard is an active member of the Junior League of Houston. She also enjoys volunteering as a member of the Horticulture Committee for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
