Sima Shahlaee joined Brown Sims as a law clerk during law school. She became an associate attorney in the firm’s Houston office upon her graduation and licensure. Ms. Shahlaee’s practice focuses primarily on the defense of claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA) and the Defense Base Act (DBA).
Ms. Shahlaee earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Global Hospitality Leadership from the University of Houston in 2020 and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in 2023. While attending law school, Ms. Shahlaee was the Vice President for Women’s Law Society and a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. She was recognized as a Presidential Fellow and awarded the Deans Merit Scholarship. Ms. Shahlaee also completed a 40-hour mediation certificate. Before joining Brown Sims, she interned for the Harris County Courts and U.S. Bankruptcy Courts.
